Has anyone ever tried sentencing criminals to a life of humor?

Asked by ibstubro (18804points) August 31st, 2016

I wonder what would happen if we turned a high security prison into a comedy club. No less secure, but vibrantly engaging and funny. Nothing too drab and dull.

If we engaged prisoners, would they respond?

Well, there was Tickle Prison…

Where To Invade Next has a nice segment on the nice (but not comedic) prisons in Norway. They seem effective. I’m not sure I want comedy-crazed convicts loose on the streets… but it might work.

Would certainly add literal meaning on Death Row to ‘Gallows Humour’.

@Jeruba Love it! I played Nanki-Poo in our junior high school production.

Of course! At Tickle Me Gitmo.

How many prison guards does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Seven, one to screw in the lightbulb and six to beat up the room for being black.

That would probably get me another six months.

The idea was done by Seinfeld.
