Is it a good idea for me (Non-Asian) to try to become a Kpop idol?

Hi, I’m from Kolkata, India. It’s been my dream to become a Kpop idol since last year. I’m 100% fluent in English, Bengali and Hindi and I can speak a lot of Korean and I have no problem in reading or writing Hangul. I’d say I’m about 70% fluent in Korean. I also have pale skin.

I’ve been practicing for the things that I’m gonna do in my audition for quite some time. I’m gonna audition online for all the Kpop companies that have the online audition feature lol. I’m 16 right now and I’m gonna audition after a couple of months. I’m 5’4 (Lol I know I’m short) and 45 kgs.

But something is always in the back of my mind – Is it really worth it to waste my time practicing? Because no Kpop companies have ever accepted a Non-Asian, except Alex of Rania. And I keep thinking that I’m wasting my time trying to do something impossible. Jeong Wook, CEO of JYPE, said in 2012 that if there are talented applicants, they’re gonna train them no matter if they’re white or black. But there still isn’t even one Non-Asian in JYPE.

India is a huge market, they might try to spread Kpop here by accepting Indian applicants like me, but of course I can’t be sure of that. So what do you think? I’ve decided to keep practicing and not give up. But do you think it’s a good idea?
