My iPhone speakers are kinda weak. I was wondering if anyone else has that problem?

Asked by NYChris (26points) July 22nd, 2007 from iPhone

when I put the speaker phone on or play music out of the speakers it seems to be coming out of only one speaker. What should I do?

only one is a speaker; the other is a microphone for speakerphone mode.

If you really think there is an issue then run it over to the nearest Apple store so the can either see and confirm or explain

kballard is right-one of the grilles is the microphone, one is the speaker and its SQ is supposedly only good enough for voice and youtube. FYI it's in the .PDF manual for the phone too :)

you can't have an Apple AND read manuals .... Yick! (-;

I was thinking the same thing, and the "genious" an the Apple Store gave me a new phone out of it. Guess he just never thought to look...

But, yea, the left is the speaker, the right is the microphone.

the thing on the bottem left is the microphone. the one on the bottem right is the speaker. its VERY weak, i get afraid to play music on MAX because i feels their gunna break. haha. Anyone else think they could break from blasting the music for too long ?..

from the info I have seen on Hackint0sh, it looks like the volume is artificially limited by a configuration file. It looks like it was justifiably limited as when raised, people had reported that audio quality sounded pretty bad.

I just swapped for a new phone and the speaker on this one does seem louder than my old one. Maybe there was gunk built up in the grille over time? And yes, there is only one speaker.
