two white flower strains of the sweet pea(Lathyrus odoratus) were crossed , producing an F1 with only purple flowers.random crossing among the F1 produced 96 progeny plants , 53 exhibiting purple flowers and 43 with white flowers.
1. what phenotypic ratio is approximated by the F2?
2. what type of interaction is involved?
3.what were the probable genotypes of the parental strain?

Appears it’s Gregor Mendel time in biology class.

@asaresamuel – do the math. If you have a 53/43 split, you know something about the ratio.

But the real question is: there was a 97th plant that was red. Where did that come from?
