Who the hell decided lions are the kings of animals?

Asked by Sneki95 (7017points) November 7th, 2016

What has a lion done for the sake of animal kingdom? Nothing.
Lions are nothing but giant, lazy, territorial, burping orange ashholes with bad, displaced toupées who either sleep or fuck around.
I suggest we find a smart, capable leader with new ideas and perspectives, someone who knows the needs of ordinary animals, who would make animal kingdom great again.
What is your suggestion?

Lions are pretty bad ass…

A replacement? Maybe a gorilla.

Lions aren’t even from the jungle. They are found in the Savannah.
If they want to remain King of the Jungle, I’m gonna want to see a long form birth certificate.

Or let me be the queen. I will claim prima nocta.

Lions are an apex predator. Ain’t nobody kicking their butts.

I get your point though @Sneki95, because it is the lionesses that are the real bad-asses.

Your denigration seems apt only for the males, and even the fellas have a tough climb to arrive at that brief “burp, sleep & fuck around” stage. “King” probably reflects the view on the imagined “joys” that come with a harem. But just consider the work involved with keeping a crowd of tough women in line after being torn and ripped to acquire the privilege, with the certainty that it will all be snatched away from you probably at the cost of your life.

@zenvelo behind every proud lion stands a lioness who has had enough of his shit.

I think Tiger is the real King !!!

Sneki95's avatar

@imrainmaker Tigers get beat up by feral kids and accept being pets of whiny pseudo-Arabic princesses. How is that a king material?

Lions serve to trim the numbers of some other animals, so those other animals don’t overpopulate and so cause problems for themselves and others.

I’m sure it wasn’t the pachyderms!

Sneki95's avatar

@Zaku How much did lions pay you to write that?

ucme's avatar

Disney?
Also, “lazy…orange asshole…bad displaced toupee…fuck around”
That describes Trump surely :D

Sneki95's avatar

@ucme pssst, they’ll realise it. But I guess it’s over already. Here’s a cookie, you guessed all the references.

Boy-Lions look so regal and royal. Aren’t “lazy” and “territorial” the most essential credentials for a monarch?

I’d guess Aesop.

So… this lion was parading around in the jungle savana, very pround of himself. He met a rabbit and roared: “Who is the king of all animals?” The rabbit, terrified, answered: “YOU my lord. YOU are the king of animals.” So the lion strolled away, please with himself.

Then he met a fox, and asked him: Who is the king of all animals?” The scared fox answered: “YOU my lord. YOU are the king of animals.” So the lion strolled away, proud of himself.

Then he met an elephant, and asked him the same question. The elephant grabbed the lion in his trunk and threw him 50 yards away.

The lion walked away limping and grumbling: “You can’t even ask a QUESTION anymore…”

^ Good point.

@ucme Believe me, we get it. Personally, I refuse to compare a majestic animal with an orange-hued buffoon; I won’t even mention them both, by name, in the same sentence.

I’m certainly hoping that lions will roam this planet for as long as mammals exist, and certainly much longer than said buffoon.
