Did Rush Limbaugh give a new iphone to every caller and if so why?

He gave them away as a promotion for his show.

….A promotion is one out of tons of callers – the fastest to answer a quiz to participate in a competition of some kind – would get some prize, even expensive item. Each caller getting an iPhone, (worth not too much less than $1000?) just for calling a show, is not just a promotion.

@flo Then what do you call him doing it? You have to get through and be on the show to get the phone. And, Limbaugh doesn’t take that many callers anyway, since he prefers to hear himself talk. So he is only givng away maybe ten phones.

He has done this in the past, sometimes giving away a half dozen phones. It gets people to call his show.
