What irks you more, wasting time or wasting money?

Asked by Hypocrisy_Central (26879points) December 25th, 2016

Out of wasting time even a few minutes, especially if it was not any fault of yours, or wasting money, be it your fault or not, even if it were less than ten bucks, which annoys you most? Just as an illustration but not limited to it, if you found you did something for 15 minutes that accomplished you thought it would, would it be better or worse than finding out you parted with $6 that did not accomplish anything you thought it was supposed to accomplish?

Time is money. To your question I love wasting time. I have oodles of time, But only so much money.

Time.
People talk about non renewable resources. That’s all bullshit. As long as there is a physical universe, there will be resources.
There is only one truly non-renewable resource, and that is time. Every minute that goes by is gone forever.
Forever.
You can always make some more money.
You can’t make more time.

Time. I don’t have any money of my own, so I can’t lose it. Time, I have a lot, and I lose it even more.

TIME….TIME…..TIME! Wasting money is stupid enough….wasting time is stupider.

Time, man. At 64, it’s all about time. Can’t buy it, can’t trade it, can’t even return it and one day it just stops.

Neither…I’ve made the decision to either spend the money or be at the time and place that I am at that moment.

I am responsible for my own decisions and the resultant outcomes. Thus, I treat each incident as an opportunity for a learning experience and an opportunity for reflection. Maybe it will be a mote of wisdom I can share. For me, mindfulness and learning constantly and applying that learning…that is living in joy. Just don’t get any better than that.

I have nearly a decade on you E. Corvus. The one mote of wisdom I will share with you…living a life filled with moments that you rue…that is life wasted…

Both suck.

Wasting money doesn’t hurt as much if you have plenty of back up money. If it’s your last few dollars then money becomes much more important. If you are just getting by, wasting money can put you in a desperate situation. Additionally, it can mean you will have to give up time to earn enough money to make up for the loss. It can be very interwoven.

The luxury of time to do what you want is not something I take for granted. I revel in it. My time is worth a lot to me. It is why I am such a freak about sick people spreading their germs, and why I procrastinate sometimes. I want to do what I want to do.

When I was younger I didn’t understand time is money and how valuable time is. When I got into my mid to 30’s and was feeling some relief from health problems I had had for years, time became much much more important. I want to grab every pain free moment I can.

Now, I’m at the age that many of my family members started having serious health problems or died. I feel the pressure to really do what I want to do, and not give away my time to other people. I haven’t perfected that yet.

I don’t waste either. It’s my time to do with as I please. Same with money. Both money and time are just human fabrications.

Wasting time drives me absolutely nuts ever since my near death experience at 17.

Money represents time spent working, and so wasting it is, in some ways, wasting your time too, but I’m going to go to work all week regardless of how much I need money since I need its other benefits like health insurance, so the relationship between time and money isn’t totally 1:1 for me.
