I was 20 and working at a small retail store. It was on Christmas eve and I had to close and lock up so everyone else could go home and be with their kids. I had already turned the lights off, locked the cash registers and went to the front door to make sure I had locked it. A man was at the door shaking the handle and beating on the window. We were clearly closed as the lights were all off. I told him we were closed. He said he just had to buy a leather jacket and to let him in. I said no, the registers were locked, we have closed. He screamed F_ _ _ You Bitch. Smart ass that I was, I said Merry Christmas! But I was actually scared so I stayed in the store for about another 15 minutes in case he was waiting for me to come out.

I really don’t have a rude customer story other than boring a-holes that screw up using my products and attempt to cop a refund for their mistakes. But my greatest rude A-hole story was when my girlfriend at the time was working as a hair model at the international hair show in Chicago for the Treseme company and Eddie Murphy was the MC. Towards the end of the show when things were rapping up….he shows up out of nowhere and comes up to my GF with his army of thugs in tow. He started hitting on her right in front of me…even went as far as to ask who is this nobody….grabs her arm and says lets go for a ride in my limo and party. She pulls away and screams “let go of me”! He storms off….looks back at us and screams “Bitch”! What a fucktard.

^^ What was your reaction?

@imrainmaker More stunned than anything as my SNL idol just flung poo at me and my GF….Standing in between a petulant celeb and stared down by 3 – 250 lb bodyguards was not a comfortable place to be. We let them storm off in a huff.

@Cruiser . At least he didn’t “Trump” her. ~

We had a celebrity (won’t name him) judge for a bikini contest one year. He was a pro QB. I liked him. But he got really handsy with all the girls, including some of our bartenders. They were all clearly uncomfortable, and he was taking advantage of his position as a VIP at the venue. I was battling in my mind about how to handle it. Any other person, I would have dragged out. Luckily, just as I decided to just drag him out and deal with the consequences later, the DJ upstairs called the girls up for the contest. Once in a more public setting he dialed it back. But we took good care of him,and he was disrespectful. He left after the contest, good riddance.

He wasn’t the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with by far, but I felt it piggy backed @Cruiser‘s story.

The world is full of rude people. I guess it’s job security for me….

During winter storms, many phone company employees would be loaned out to the repair forces, to help with the large backlog of customers having trouble with their service.
I got a trouble ticket, and went to the address. The woman answered the door, and let me in. Once inside, she said “Look, I don’t have any phone problem, but I am a retired operator with the company, and I need some help moving a sofa. If you don’t help me, I will call the company and tell them you were very rude to me, and I’ll see to it you’re suspended!”
I told her that I was sympathetic to her, and I’d be happy to help move her sofa, and she didn’t have to get tough with me. I don’t think I used the word “cunt”, but I might have.

Pfffft.

I was a customer service specialist (Ooooooo!!) for a cellular company for 4 years. I took all the customer complaint calls. Oh, the stories I can tell! But the one that really stands out is a guy who owned a tree-trimming service. He had about 8 lines with us. His name was Sonny, and he was an asshole! He was just an angry, combative person all the way around.
Sonny stormed into the shop, pissed off about his bill, which he hadn’t brought with him, yelling “Just cancel the Goddamn phones!”
I pulled his bill up on my computer and he said that didn’t look anything like his bill so just cancel the Goddamn phones!
So then I had corporate fax me a copy of his bill, and was trying to show him what the problem was (one of the lines had massive roaming charges, which were valid) but he said that didn’t look anything like his Goddamn bill and what was I trying to pull over on him and just cancel the Goddamn phones!
My most important job was to stop people from canceling their Goddamn phones, so I put up with his tirade for about 15 minutes, getting absolutely nowhere. The attacks were getting personal, too.
I was getting pretty upset myself, but #1 rule in customer service is “Don’t get upset.”
But I was really upset, so finally I said, very professionally and calmly, “Can you hang on a second? I’ll be right back.”
And I went to my desk and, with savage glee, cancelled all 8 of the Goddamn phones which added $1,600 in early termination fees to his bill! Take that you SOB!
LOL! Went back up front…and he was trying to use his Goddamn phone!
“What happened to my Goddamn phone?!” he yelled.
“You told me to cancel them, so I did.”
“WELL I DIDN’T MEAN CANCEL THEM RIGHT THIS GODDAMN MINUTE!”
LOL!
So I went back and turned his Goddamn phones back on, and reversed all 8 of the $200 early termination fees, went back up front and told him I had just saved him $1,600!
For some reason calling his bluff seemed to totally calm him down. You would think it would have the opposite effect, but it didn’t.
So we were able to resolve his issue (the charges were valid and he needed to talk to the employee that caused them) and I was his best friend after that.

After he did Beverly Hills Cop I started hearing that Eddy Murphy was an asshole. You know that hilarious character, I think it was Sergio, who was just flaming gay, and EM told him to “Go fuck yourself,” in the movie, and he said, “Nooo I cannot!”
I read an interview he did, and he said that other than when they did scenes together Murphy wouldn’t give him the time of day.

None stand out to me as the most rude. There have been plenty.

One event I thought of was when I gave someone their change back and some of it fell on the ground. This pissed him off I guess because he then went to grab me by my shirt but I backed away and he only ripped my apron. Then, he took our tip jar and threw the coins at me yeling “HERE’S YOUR CHANGE!” or something like that.

There were a lot of crazy people where I used to work. It was by a big health center, so you can imagine the types of people we got. But actually, the worst demographic in my opinion was nurses. There were only a few that we knew were nice. The others would always boss us around and yell at us. They were very disrespectful. One nurse who I frequently saw would always sit down and start conversations with people about how fake women today were and how things were so much better when she was a kid. Then once she had their attention she’d go off and say other nonsense. Whenever someone with scrubs would walk in my coworkers and I would have to remind each other of whose turn it was to deal with them.
