What's the best headphone solution for the iPhone?

Asked by kristianbrodie (153points) August 7th, 2008

So, I’ve just got a new iPhone, and I don’t know what to do with the headphones. Obviously, the apple one’s suck in terms of keeping noise out, but I do like the funny little microphone/control button on the cord. I’ve tried a third party adapter from Belkin which has a microphone and a button, but which I can use with my good headphones, but then I have a cord which is about two metres long…

I’m kind of in the same boat. I’d like to upgrade but can’t bring myself to spend more than forty bucks for a new pair. Good thing I’m not an audiophile.

Using Fluther’s Search function, I found this older thread asking the same question:

http://www.fluther.com/disc/9112/good-iphone-headphones/

In that thread several users support the V-Moda Vibe Duos. I own a pair and the (newest model) is perfect for everyday use, and has far better sound quality, comfort, and durability.

Try a Shure adapter for iPhone and a pair of Shure headphones such as these

Bear in mind it is really weird having a phone conversation when you can hear your own voice.

The vmoda vibe duo were good until they broke. Been lost in warranty repair for 2 months. Will not be buying anything from them again.
