If you were a god for a day, what would you do?

Distribute resources more evenly around the globe and make humans more caring of each other and the planet they live on.

Yes, I’d create the perfect Utopia, peace and prosperity for all, no religion too imagine and no more procreating until the population dwindled to a more sustainable level.
I’d also ensure that all non-human species had plenty of habitat and a safe haven from the great white hunters.

I’d spread ruin, death and destruction everywhere.

I would give lifetime zero deductible free full coverage health care to everyone, a brand new car and an all expense paid trip to the Disney park of their choice. Make me God for a week or two and we will have some real fun.

Take control of planes and fly them into buildings.
Inflicting random violence and calamities on humans and tell them it is part of “my plan”.
Collapsing churches on tops of believers who hide in there for protection.
Hit churches with lightning bolts to fry priests ringing the bells during a thunderstorm.
Make babies be born with debilitating diseases and disabilities.
Inventing new parasites and diseases to plague those filthy humans.
etc.

I would remove all the pollution and all the weapons of war from the planet.

Well, since I’d be God, and can do anything, I’d make myself God forever, not just for one day. Then I’d descend down to the Earth to dwell in the same abode as my people. I would abolish all governments and rule directly over the Earth.

Sex, lots of it.

make sure every single person had a forever friend.

I would press reset and start the human species all over again.

Who said you can do anything? If you can be a god for only one day, your power obviously has a time limit. You can’t play against the rule.

If I am a god them I make the rules.

Raise my stats. And pay off everyone’s debt. Make university free. Give everyone their own galaxy where we meet in this one for company.

I would change all humans so that those who DO NOT hate and kill other humans will become immortal. All haters and killers will die young.

Without absolute power then I would not be a god. Isn’t that kinda the whole idea behind gods in the first place? How would any other suggestion mentioned in this thread happen without absolute power?

@Darth_Algar One look at the history will tell you that, until around 2000 years ago, almost every single culture ever respected gods that were very limited in power.

I never stated “monotheistic god”. I didn’t state the nature of a god at all. I set up a hypothetical scenario, with only one rule, and you went ahead and broke even that one rule.

@Darth_Algar Yes. You get the power to do anything, but only in a matter of 24 hours. What would be the thrill if I gave you the power forever? That is ridiculous. This way, you have a chance to change the world under limited time. Do what you want, but only while you can.

@Darth_Algar Well…it would be using your powers for good not evil, kinda a no brainer if you ask me. People already worship a cruel God, might be nice to get a benelovant “God” for a change.

Who says I wouldn’t use my power for good? Indeed, I very much would. But, you see, it would be necessary for me to extend my power into perpetuity in order to ensure the continued, lasting, golden age of peace, harmony and prosperity for all mankind.

And that’s also why I would rule over my people myself. I would be an active, engaged deity. Not a cold, distant, unseen and unknown one. I’d be the best god this world has ever had.
