I accidentally hid all of my desktop icons, how do I get them back?

So I accidentally (somehow) managed to hide all of the icons that were on my desktop (I have a HP computer (running Windows 8 (i think)))
I have no clue how I managed to do this, but does anybody know a way of getting everything back? It’s starting to get annoying.
