Do you somehow anthropomorphize the thought of your cellphone number into a part of your identity?

Other numbers too. They get so familiar I feel like they have their own life. I would never want to change my number.

No, but I like my number because it starts and ends with the same three numbers.

for example: 543–234-1543

I don’t even know my cell phone number.

Ha ha – no.

But way back, around 10 years ago, I had a cell phone number that ended in 6666 (as in 213-xxx-6666)

It was a devilishly good number. Sadly, this was before the days of number porting, and I had to give it up. It was a wonderful phone number,

I’ve had my cell number for 20 years, I’d hate to change it. When I lived in TN I had an awesome landline phone number. I wished I had moved it onto my husband’s cell phone.

For my house phone where I live know I had the company go through 3 or 4 choices until I agreed it was an ok number. I would up with a different one! They assigned the wrong one, the last two digits different. It was ok though, so I didn’t fuss.

It’s not so much my identity as I care that it’s easy to remember and has a nice pattern. When I hear a phone number I visualize the pattern on the keypad.
