Did you know Monopoly has changed some of its tokens?

News item
The Thimble, the Wheelbarrow, and the Boot are all soon to be history. Parker Brothers has announced that, in August, an update of the Monopoly game will be issued, and three new tokens will replace the aforementioned ones.
The new tokens will be a dinosaur, a rubber duck, and a penguin.
It has occurred to me that these are also avatars of several jellies.
What other tokens could be replaced, and with what?
Are you happy about this?
What other changes might we expect? Jurassic Park Place?

Bank money with water marks.
Slum lords. If someone owns all properties of a color, and passes go twice without buying any houses, anybody who lands there can sue the owner the amount of the rent.
FREE PARKING becomes parking complex, and when a player lands there, they have to pay five dollars, and five more during each opponents turn, until they get to roll and move on.
If someone gets Boardwalk and Park Place, and puts hotels on both, they get to be President. That means they spend the rest of the game sitting on GO which is Government Office. They collect rent, and every turn they get $200., and that is it.
Yes, I read about it. I wonder if that makes my untouched Anniversary Edition with original tokens and original wooden houses any more valuable?

i never knew that no! i guess they seem to like to update things every once and a while i’d prefer they kept it original though..

Nope, not happy. That damn old boot was my favorite. Sometimes I hate change.
First, I was the iron, and then they got rid of it.
Next. I was the nimble thimble, and then they got rid of it.
Well at least they are keeping the rearing horse and rider. That was always MY favorite.
I don’t see why they are changing them, but hey…progress. Maybe they need a transgender token too. Maybe the rearing horses rider needs breasts.lol

I always thought the original tokens were meant to be different industries.
Adding in cats and penguins makes no sense in the theme of the game.

There should be instead, maybe a cd, a resister (color coded), and a teeeeeeeny little xbox controller.
I guess I’m going to have to carry my thimble around with me in case a game breaks out.
I still have mine, and, I’m clutching my horse tight too, just in case.
