I want to know your views on how the era shown in The Physician (2013 movie) differs from the era we are living in today.

It’s an assignment I’m working on, I have to compare the two eras. Any kind of comments/opinions would be helpful.
If you’re not aware of the movie, it’s set in Persia in the 11th century, so you can share whatever knowledge you have.

I would first like to know what thoughts you have. I would rather discuss what you think, that just ramble away about what I think.
