Batman has better, more realistic story lines.
Superman has superpowers, that make him at least physically superior to Batman.
I guess I prefer Batman.

Sneki95's avatar

Saitama. He’s chill af.

mhd14's avatar

@MrGrimm888 BUT both are fictional characters….

Mimishu1995's avatar

@mhd14 he means that Batman is closer to a real-life human than Superman, therefore Batman is more believeable.

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

Batman could be made to be real but not superman

mhd14's avatar

who is greater then- money or power….?

ragingloli's avatar

Squirrel Girl.

mhd14's avatar

@ragingloli I don’t know about her, please tell something….

ragingloli's avatar

She is a girl, with a squirrel tail. And she controls squirrels.

mhd14's avatar

what she do for the world?

Lightlyseared's avatar

Batman. Superman was always a bit boring.

DangerMouse

Wrong question.

They both suck, objectively, as heroes.

Superman, for one, is every idiot that’s ever tried to godmod the D&D campaign and still failed. His arch nemesis is a rock, for fuck’s sake.

Batman isn’t a superhero at all. He’s a billionaire whackadoodle with PTSD.

I’m going to root for Cerebus the Aardvark. who may not be a “superhero”, but he did manage to work as a barbarian for hire, be elected Prime Minister, and become pope whilst simultaneously being an aardvark.

Sneki95's avatar

^ Where is that from?

Seek's avatar

…from Cerebus the Aardvark.

Sneki95's avatar

^ Oh! I thought he was a character from a differently named work. Dunno why.

MrGrimm888's avatar

Yes. Both are fictional. Especially Batman. It’s more likely that a flying alien would be here, than a wealthy person, who risks their own lives and money to help the less fortunate….

ragingloli's avatar

Well, Bill Gates could be considered half way there.

MrGrimm888's avatar

^Hell yeah. Mad props to Bill….

ragingloli's avatar

And really, Bruce Wayne could help his city a lot more using his wealth out in the open, than squandering it on gadgets and toys to beat up petty criminals in dark backstreets.

filmfann's avatar

@ragingloli petty criminals?

I have twice been given the nickname “Superman”, for very different reasons.
That said, I prefer Batman. I will, again, point out that he has beaten Superman when they have battled.

ucme's avatar

Superman has no powers, at least not on his own planet, only aquires them when he lands on our rock.
The suggestion being that us humans are weak & fragile fuckers.
Also, that name is so irritating, may as well have called himself Arrogantcockboy
As for Batman, just a rich fuck with a leather fetish who appoints himself chief villain catcher, stay at home, get a girl & get fucked.

SergeantQueen's avatar

Batman is my sugar daddy. Superman is my Daddy for other things.

I kinda liked Spider-Man more than any other superhero, but the Spider-Man from the old comic books.
He seemed a little darker and more muscular than in the new movies and Mary Jane is really hot in the comics I looked at growing up.
I always envisioned Spider-Man the movie to be rated R and darker and it would’ve starred someone like Paul Walker as Spider-Man rather than the family friendly franchise it became.
Umm…I liked Superman more than Batman I guess?
I didn’t like Batman’s pointy ears or that he’s named “Batman”.
He isn’t a bat and doesn’t have any bat powers does he?
I don’t know, I didn’t follow him much.

Batman’s more interesting because he’s a super-capable human who is more vulnerable and relatable and in theory his stories involve more engagement with figuring out what to do about situations, which I’m interested in.

Superman is less interesting to me because I don’t believe in his powers, they don’t make sense to me, the universe gets bent by sloppy imagination in ways that don’t make much sense and so aren’t very interesting to me. Also he’s too super. He’s almost impossible to hurt or resist except by avoiding his attention. I’m not very interested in most of that. The most interested I was in a Superman story was the second Christopher Reeve movie (Superman II, I think) where he had to fight three others with his same powers but less experience using them and fewer moral restrictions. I liked some of that one. Still not really believable or particularly interesting, though.

My favorite super-heroes are the ones who don’t violate my skepticism too much, and who have some sense of humor and are likable. I like Kick-Ass and Hit Girl, because they feature semi-realistic logic-based violence and they’re all mortal and what happens makes at least an action-movie’s amount of sense, and it has a lot of humor and consequences of violence and choices in it.

I liked the first Robocop film similarly because it was semi-plausible and the violence was pretty gritty and horrible and it made some sense and had a sense of humor and made pointed cultural commentary. The later ones were all crap as far as I was able to make myself watch them, though.

That is, I like superheroes who are heroes in relatively realistic situations. The more disconnected from reality, the less I’m interested.

Batman is f###kable, so, Batman. Superman is too…
antiseptic. Don’t know what Lois sees in him.

kritiper's avatar

Batman is more…human.

Unofficial_Member's avatar

If only I can choose Catwoman. I’ll say Batman. He’s more realistic. I always think that Superman is more hypocritical, I mean, who will risk their life to save other people when you intend to keep your profile a secret, no acknowledgement means no money and he’ll keep on working his desk job.

Darth_Algar's avatar

Superheros are always hypocritical. Gotta stop the bad guys and save the day, but fuck it if we level several city blocks in our righteous combat. Sometimes ya gotta burn the village to save it, yeah?

Unofficial_Member's avatar

@Darth_Algar Agreed. That’s why anti-hero should be more preferable. Just look at Catwoman for example, she steals jewelry but at the same time also helping people. You need to feed yourself too, and nothing is free. People have good and bad side in them and there’s no exception.

kritiper's avatar

@ucme Suggests that Bruce Wayne be an isolationist. Not always the right/bright choice. Imagine if all boy (and/or girl) scouts were isolationists. What would a “good deed” be?

Rarebear's avatar

I’ve loved Superman ever since the George Reeves TV shows so Superman has a special place in my heart. At times the stories suck, but when the stories are done right, they’re wonderful.

Batman is an asshole.

Zaku's avatar

@Rarebear Even the Adam West Batman?

Patty_Melt's avatar

Superman is an illegal immigrant.

SergeantQueen's avatar

Let’s deport superman^^

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

Iron Man > Batman > Superman

Rarebear's avatar

Zaku good point. But that show was a comedy.

nicklindsey5674's avatar

I choose Batman, because he fights the Joker.
