What is the maximum number of tabs you can have open in google chrome?

I tried to figure it out myself but I lost count. What is the highest amount of tabs you can have open at one time?

I have no idea. I often have both chrome and firefox running together depending what I am doing but never experimented with how many tabs can be opened. I usually have, maybe 6 or so open at any given time.

On android it stops counting at 99 (or at least it used to, it’s a while since I used an android phone). On a desktop PC I think the only limit is the amount of RAM (and patience) you have.

I think it totally depends on operating system and ram. In theory it seems it should be infinite.

I had no idea! That’s crazy, 99 tabs open at the same time. Too much overload for me. haha

Can’t say, I didn’t pay my tab so they cut me off. But I had to much blood in my alcohol stream anyway.

That’s punny!

I don’t get it

Ok, @SergeantQueen, I’ll explain the pun…

The OP, as you know, was about browser tabs.

The response by @NomoreY_A referred to a bar tab.

What’s a bar tab?
are they beers?

So if I had really good RAM I could essentially have 1 million tabs open? That’s pretty cool.

Before credit/debit cards, many bars or pubs would allow regular patrons to consume on credit, usually paid up on payday, when said patrons could bring cash their paychecks. The credit bill was commonly referred to as the “tab”, or “bar tab”.
