How can I reply to someone's answer?

Asked by daelynn (21points) June 7th, 2017 from iPhone

I asked a question a few days ago and I don’t know how to respond to the answers I’m getting. I need to.

You just use the “Answer this question” box at the bottom of the question. If you want to direct your answer to someone in particular, use their username with an @ before it like: @daelynn. It will automatically hyperlink in the posted answer to that user’s previous reply. Hope this helps.

There is no reply feature on this site.

To indicate you are addressing a particular individual, do as @Stinley wrote. If you are on a desktop computer, type @, and a list of people on the thread will appear. Choose the correct user. If you are on a mobile device, it’s not simple. You have to manually type the whole name after the @.

If you want to reply to a particular response in a long threat, you can also use the “permalink” feature to the right side of the “Flag as…” link in the response. (It’s an ephemeral link that only appears when you hover the cursor over it, but it will give you a permanent link to “that particular response,” which you can then paste into a response using the editing tools.

So here is a link to an earlier response (from @Stinley) in this particular thread.

You’ll get the hang of it soon enough.
