No he’s too narcissistic to believe that.

zenvelo's avatar

Yes, but he would never admit it.

I suppose on the list of shortcomings, self doubt is nowhere near the top. But there must be lucid moments in the wee small hours when the question must drift into his consciousness “is all of this fuss really about my perfection in an otherwise flawed world?”

Listen, the Orangutan can not even admit that covfefe was a mistake. Instead he has his mouthpiece Spicer claim that it has a “secret meaning”.

stanleybmanly's avatar

Spicer! Now there’s a guy with the job from hell!

Somebody just call the Wiener Mobile to chauffeur Agent Orange away.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

His ego would never let him admit it.

We apparently have much bigger problems than this guy.

It appears that half the country are in well over their heads….

I think the assault of the left has surprised many people.

Who could have ever foreseen that we would have major, mainstream networks calling the President of the United States a “piece of shit”—or displayed ISIS style beheadings of the President? That wishes for the death of babies in the Trump family and depictions of incest would be considered comedy? I think what you are referring to is the utter depravity and chaos of this country—not the Trump administration.

Even the fired FBI director has today disassembled the mass hysteria of the fake news of major networks such as ABC, CBS, MSNBC, and what’s been leaked or falsely reported by once respectable news such as the New York Times and The Washington Post

All of this hysteria and vitriol is not Trump, however.

Trump is still remarkably focused on the tasks of his role as President despite all this obstructionists, perversion and hate. There is no evidence in reality of his breaking down mentally or emotionally. No evidence of obstruction as many of you were hoping.

@Yellowdog curious that the right is feeling abused by tactics ususally restricted for deployment by themselves. When he is toppled, there will be accusations that his downfall resulted from conspiratorial machinations of the New York Times. All the “rumors” of incompetence, the quotes from his own mouth, the conflicts of interest, and just the entire batshit bizarre circus of bungling—it’s all made up? Things have now deteriorated to the state that the man cannot appoint people to vital government offices. Not only is he incapable of distinguishing qualified candidates from a pile of manhole covers, his own personal stench prohibits anyone of talent and ethical probity from his association. To join up with the Trumpster now amounts to an open predilection for idiocy or corruption.

You are deflecting from the question. We sat through eight YEARS of such “humor” from the right castigating the President over his race, but the precious white supremacist loving Republicans think it is no longer “appropriate’.. Trump made it okay to disparage him in that manner by inviting Ted Nugent to the White House.

And, he has admitted that the job is harder than he expected. “Nobody knew that Healthcare could be so complicated.” Except he could have asked Nancy Pelosi and she would have explained how hard it was.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I don’t think he’d ever face it. He’ll simply blame everyone around him, like he’s doing now.

Dutchess_III's avatar

He is not focused on “the job at hand,” @Yellowdog. He’s focused on getting his lying, cheating, immoral ass out of a sling.

Yellowdog's avatar

Stanly, uf you haven’t heard, it all toppled today.

No collusion with Russians. No obstruction, It may take you several weeks or months to get over the shock.

We did hear credible testimony today that former attorney general Loretta Lynch obstructed justice with Comey’s investigation of Hillary Clinton. We know from today’s hearing that Comey leaked classified information to a professor at Cornell University who took it to a New York Times reporter. Maybe in time you will come to see reality. Felonies were committed but not from the Trump team. You, sir, have been a victim of the biggest hoax in the history of the nation

He doesn’t have the self-awareness to recognize that.

I am sure he occasionally thinks it’s more bullshit than he imagined.
But I do not believe he thinks he is in over his head.
I don’t like him much and I don’t think he is in over his head any more than the last guy was. And he clearly was.

PullMyFinger's avatar

After the debacle that was G.W. Bush, many things went in a positive direction during “the last guy’s” time in office (it’s all right there, if someone really cared enough to check the record). He also never (ever) embarrassed us as a nation. Look around you now. Man, it sure didn’t take long for much of the planet to be pointing and laughing at us.

People in New York (Trump’s HOME STATE) have had the dubious pleasure of watching this inauthentic, pro-wrestling jackass up close, screwing-over people for 50 years, his entire adult life.

In November, he lost New York by something like 21 POINTS.

Gee…..why do you suppose that is….??

stanleybmanly's avatar

@Yellowdog It’s a pretty safe bet that neither Loretta Lynch nor Comey are going to be prosecuted for their alleged offenses. But if you believe their behaviors somehow absolve Trump from the hailstorm looming in his future, think again. The man’s doom is all but pre ordained. There’s barely an investigative body or agency in all of the Federal Government that isn’t turning over the rocks that Trump has slimed. If you truly believe that a man like Trump can survive close and rigorous looking at, well then you’re the greatest optimist he will ever see.

Yellowdog's avatar

Seven months of investigations, numerous reports and leaks turning out to be fake. No evidence still. Plenty of denial of evidence by investigative bodies you are counting on.

Obama did NOT do well on the world stage except in liberal white countries (England, Germany, Scandinavian countries. Russia). He made friends in Iran and stabbed Israel in the back.

stanleybmanly's avatar

You don’t understand. Unlike Obama, Mr. Trump is going to do and say things that guarantee he is under investigation perpetually far into future. He can’t seem to help himself. The man isn’t persecuted by the left. His loud mouth and brash behavior bring down the weight of the entire political system, his purported allies included. You would think that he might come to understand that there are penalties to acting the fool, but this is clearly not the case. You keep insisting Comey’s testimony leaves Trump in the clear. What Comey actually said is that the President of the United States cannot be trusted and is so prone to lying that no one can risk talking to him in a room alone and expect a true account. It was without question the most derogatory evaluation of the character and integrity of a sitting President by a public official in my lifetime.

ragingloli's avatar

It is incredible.
Comey just confirmed that Drumpf pressured him to drop the investigation against Flynn, revealed that Drumpf threatened to fire him if he does not obey, called Drumpf a liar, and strongly agreed with the evaluation that the Russians influenced the election, yet his followers act as if their fake president was just absolved of all sins.
It is as I said before:
The Führer can do no wrong.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Well at least to his loyal red neck followers he can do no wrong, to the rest of us he is just one step away from being thrown out.
