for the life of me I can’t find the question about good pairs of things like mac n cheese or franks and beans. I’ve searched but no luck. It was like a month ago.

I find this thread uberbatman, because it is mercifully free of the influx of zillions of newbie Flutherers. (Sorry, kvetching.) I know we need them. I know it will be good. I guess I am in a place of not wanting change. :(
It’s the repetition that gets me; the aggressor, the juvenile, the ingenue, the know-it-all, the polemicist, the thesis writers, and amazingly, the ingenious ones who spell definitely yet another way. Interesting that the players are different but the roles are always the same.
However, we do have some wonderful newcomers – the wheat (or barely) among the chaff.
@gc Wise as always. You are right about the repeating roles. Makes all of us who pride ourselves on our uniqueness think again, doesn’t it?
I’m trying to be as welcoming as possible because it seems to be something that Andrew really wants. His welcoming attitude when it first happened has been my guide. Yeah, they do fall into all the same categories, but so do we all (don’t get me started on equal marriage rights). This has been a relatively benign influx, compared with some of our growth periods. I was cautious at first. Did we really want 17+ members who had been banned by another site for ganging up on another member? But PnL seemed to vouch for these new users and she has certainly proved herself here. Ladies, we need to see if we can get Dave (pupntaco) on board with this. I think he’s floundering.

Can there not be a ‘shared’ rule? You can trade-off to the other when you feel your crown tarnishing/tumbling…....lol
