Are a person being microchipped and being pierced similar?

Asked by flo (13313points) July 26th, 2017

Did someone say that getting pierced (ears etc.) and being microchipped are similar?
A Wiscon company is either ready to, or has microchipped some of the employees.

Microchips are readable remotely, through clothing. Piercings can be removed. Tattoos can be covered with clothing.

It’s sort of like a dermal.
A dermal kind of puts an ear ring backing under your skin, so that you can put jewelry anywhere without a visible backing. Think cheeks or belly.

Microchips can track your movements; piercings can’t.

Microchips can only track you when you get near a sensor. The trick is to know where the sensors are.

But a piercing is not going to identify/verify who you are.
