Do you know someone that is pretty/beautiful, but in the unusual or nonconventional ways?

Someone that looks strange, or at least not something you’d see often, but is still beautiful. Like strangely beautiful.

Well, I don’t know her, at least not in this life. And before you call the boys in the white jackets and have me hauled off to Happy Acres, let me explain. I was walking down a crowded street in Austin one night, going to or from one of the annual events, may have been Eyeore’s Birthday. At any rate, I saw an inexplicably beautiful woman going the opposite way, who locked eyes with me and looked shocked, like she knew me but could not recall where. I had the same reaction, but before I could get over to talk to her, she got carried away by the crowd. Very weird night, and weird sensation.

I think Maggie Q is beautiful.

“Conventional” has never been my thing in beauty. I like the odd one, the exotic. Personality and the type of person has a lot to do with it as well. And it gets more extreme as I get older.

I’m that way too, sometimes the ugly duckling is my dream girl.

I kinda have a thing for Lucy DeVito. Not conventionally pretty. But I would rock that bottom.

I have known a number of women who are “unconventionally” beautiful and downright sexy. Indeed, a woman that is considered ‘normally” pretty does little for me.

When I was about thirty, I realized that the women I had been most involved with over the years all had distinct noses. None were the same,

Last night, my husband and I took a young woman to dinner. She’s the summer intern from his organization, she’s leaving after today, and we wanted to give her a nice send-off.

I was stunned by how beautiful this girl is. I had to stop myself from staring at her and making her feel uncomfortable. She isn’t pretty in any conventional, “Perfect Ten” way, but she has an exotic look that’s riveting.

I don’t know him personally, but you all know of my love for Martin Clunes I think he’s beautiful and sexy. He’s clearly not most women’s idea of a hot stud. I tend to fall for people’s personalities first, and then decide that they are gorgeous afterwards. I also have a wide range of what I find beautiful in a man (or a woman).

True beauty has to have a flaw to make it truly beautiful.

As a good friend of mine once said, “If we all had the same taste in women, 100 guys would always be lined up at the bar, waiting to talk to the same woman….”

^Depending on the number of women in the bar, there might be!

All the most beautiful women are unconventional in their looks. A cookie cutter beauty lacks appeal. To really fascinate a woman must seem to be unique.

@flutherother I am in complete agreement. I’ve always thought of it as ‘generic’ beauty, or ‘store-mannequin’ beauty, but ‘cookie cutter’ beauty says it even better.

That’s why it’s difficult at times to be certain which of these “beautiful” movie stars is which.

(Except for…....say…..........Jennifer Beals. I always know her when I see her…..)
