Has this ever happened to you?

Last night I was having a dream where I was a detective investigating an explosion that killed gorillas. Yeah, weird I know. Anyway, I started to feel sick to my stomach in the dream, only to wake up and realize I actually was sick to my stomach. My eyes were also rolling rapidly around in my head, and I was so dizzy I barely made it to the bathroom before I threw up. This has happened to me before, but this time was particularly bad. I was dizzy and generally gross feeling for a long time afterward, I had a massive headache (especially around my eyes) and found it terribly hard to get back to sleep.

Has this ever happened to any of you? Does anyone know that exactly causes it? I realize the rapid and uncontrollable eye movement probably has something to do with my waking up during REM sleep, but I haven’t been able to find anything similar to this through research, and no one I ask seems to have had this happen to them before.
