Man, so... how has everything been over here?

Hey you. It’s good to see you. Where have you been and what have you been up to?

I’ve been alright I suppose, still enjoying the endless battle between crawling away from the pit of endless depression to experience some mediocre minor joy, then getting pulled back in, it’s definitely not just some angsty hormone driven phase, I know that for sure.

Actually settled on some proper steady employment after freelancing IT stuff for a bit so I at least have something during the day which keeps my mind occupied which is good.

Still tinker with electronics and a bit of programming stuff, segregated that off to it’s own isolated channel instead of mashing it together with all the random stuff, still enjoying virtually no attention on youtube lol, but meh, I don’t make enough money to constantly buy obscure/interesting things to make videos on, so that makes sense. Sort of on and off with that passion.

Probably a lot more that’s happened, but I’m never good at small talk sort of stuff, and my life has basically been mostly the same, try to keep busy with gaming or movies when I don’t have something to tinker with. Had some light issues with police due to lighting equipment on my car which is about as close to I’ve gotten to being considered a bad seed so I guess that ads a bit of spice to life, even if it cost me a bunch in maintenance to pass inspection and whatnot.

Gotten a bit more into tinkering with servers and whatnot too, I think I had my first server when I was on here, honestly hard to remember, 2009 is a long time ago to think back. Definitely had it at some point in between then and now but not sure if I had mentioned it at all.

Haven’t really gone on Q&A sites since the last time I was here, I think part of the reason I weened off fluther is it was a great community, but I often had pretty specific stuff we were too small to answer, doubt that will have changed, but guess I’m just feeling nostalgic for days of old.

Had a whole bunch of new activity and I just marked it as read, half because I can’t be arsed, half because I think a fresh-ish start would be good, and half because I know a lot of it will be moderated for spam lol

Also not looking forward to winter, bleh.

Well it’s good to see you and I’m glad you have a ‘real’ job and are doing okay. I’m sorry you’re still struggling with depression, but I think we each have something in life we have to battle. Keep positive. You’re a good guy! :-)

A steady job is a good thing. It helps bring focus to your life and reminds you of the current day and date. The money is useful, too.

Hi there! It’s so wonderful to see you. You and I were both Jellified sometime around 2009 (I’m on my 3rd identity now), so I remember you well.

This summer, I had to transition my beloved Mom to hospice care, my husband totaled his car, and we lost our home in a two-alarm fire.

Do I wallow in self-pity? No, not even for a minute. When I start to feel sorry for myself, I tune-in to CNN or MSNBC. I’m not trying to survive in Puerto Rico, stranded on an island with no food or clean water, and I wasn’t in Las Vegas last weekend. It’s all a matter of perspective. My own situation is nothing but inconvenience, in the face of all that true horror and tragedy.

It’s going ok here among the collective. It’s feeling a little like that show Big Brother where everyone for the most part gets along, but it’s still a house divided too. They banned Coloma recently. Remember her? A bunch of jellies are unhappy about it, including me.

Is XOIIO actually Judochop? A decade ago when the original iPhone was fresh I had just moved to Portland. Actually I had a iPod Touch at the time. So my scale of time is wonky.

But I had just moved to Portland and was pretty lonely. So Judo picked me up at my house and we went to a bar and then his wife met up with us and we went to a concert. A can of PBR fell out of my bag when he was driving me home. The little things in life that make it worth living.

If XOIIO is Judochop I had no idea. I remember them both, but didn’t connect them.

I’ve never seen anything about Judo leaving Oregon, and as I recall, XOIIO lives in Saskatchewan.

A substantial number of XOIIO’s posts have been about electronic technology, whereas very few, if any of Judo’s were.

I think Judo has a daughter, whereas I don’t think XOIIO has ever mentioned having any children at all.

I’ve seen their photos, and there’s no readily noticeable resemblance.

Anyway, it’s good to see you back and have you ever had appendicitis? ;-)
