What do you think are chances of independence for Catalonia?

It doesn’t look good. If there isn’t armed intervention by Spain, there could be a long embargo.

Slim. There are too many forces against them from their own government to other EU nations. It would be a hard slog.

The vote in favour of independence is not entirely convincing as the national government declared it illegal and the constitutional opposition parties asked their supporters to boycott it. There is not much international support for an independent Catalonia either. It is a very emotional issue and if the Spanish government handles it badly support for independence might yet become unstoppable.
