Suppose you were a high quality attorney and Donald Trump called and asked you to work for him? Would you take the job?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33141points) March 26th, 2018

And more importantly, would you ask for cash / prepayment?

As long as I’m getting paid, I guess so.

I’m not sure about payment.

Sure, someone has to take out the trash.

Sure doesn’t slime ooze together?

only if I were desperate. The job would be about screwing somebody out of something or defending “the creature” from his many victims. I can’t imagine a more depressing job. “What do you do for a living Stan?” “I pass out hush money to hookers.”

I wouldn’t even take the call. Seriously, if Donald Trump called me up, no matter for what reason, I would decline to speak with him.

No. I’d imagine I’d be a bit like Perry Mason in what clients I’d accept.

Darth_Algar's avatar

No I would not. Political views, etc notwithstanding, the Trump name/brand has become toxic. No way would I willingly associate with it.

chyna's avatar

No. I would never want to be known as a trump supporter or ally.

According to what I’ve seen on TV, no I wouldn’t be his lawyer.

I can’t imagine being a lawyer to begin with, and then the idea of trying to defend people who are always trying to get around the law, or get away with something illegal? No thank you.

Back to Donald specifically, from what I understand, a lawyer can’t sit back and say nothing when a client perjures himself; so, hell no I’m not risking my license with Trump.

No, I couldn’t in all conscience.

I wouldn’t work for Trump and I would feel offended that he asked me.

The Orangutan has a history of not paying his contractors, and his last attorney quit, because the ape does not follow instructions.
So, no.

I wouldn’t take the job. Prestigious as it would be in any other presidency, here it would be demeaning.

There is a saying that goes something like: Don’t wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and the pig likes it.

No, I don’t think so.

It would put you in significant legal trouble.

See the 130K dude that should be disbarred and have the FEC up in his ass.

On the other hand if a high quality president asked me to work for him or her I would jump at the opportunity.

LostInParadise's avatar

Here is an article that says the reason Trump is having trouble with lawyers is that they are afraid he would not tell them the truth and would renege on paying them. I certainly would not want to work for Trump under those circumstances. I would leap at the chance to work for any other president.

I didn’t post it. I wish I had thought of it.

If I was high quality, I would not work for him.
His standards are low.
