Have you ever asked a former teacher to grab lunch or coffee?

I emailed my former art teacher if he wanted to grab coffee sometime. Although we’ve seen each other at numerous art galleries and have chatted quite a bit, I’m thinking it might come across as weird. Your thoughts?

I guess it might depend how long ago you had them and how old you are. I’ve met up with high school and grade school teachers as a young married. I think it’s ok.

I never have, but I think it would be different to invite an art teacher than to invite a regular studies teacher. I would think with an art teacher you would have a deeper more personal connection. I would absolutely ask them to coffee or lunch.

YES! My favorite high school teacher, years later – we had a 100% wonderful dinner and will do it again when I’m in his city again! And I hadn’t seen him in person in the intervening years – I think your situation sounds not the least bit weird as you’ve been running into each other.
