I told my best friend that i like him?

Asked by Blip123 (13points) April 5th, 2018 from iPhone

I told my best friend that I liked him, once when we got drunk he asked me if did I still have feelings over him and if I wanted to try something like being boyfriends, I got scared about our friendship and told him that yes, but probably he didn’t want to, I don’t want to force him to do something and I appreciate more our friendship than any posible relationship, so he stared at me and told me… ok i get it you know I like you and you’re my friend and I don’t want you being awkward with me, that’s why I didn’t place distances between us when you told me.
Did I do wrong telling him to don’t try anything , what should I do now, Cassie I still like him a lot!

Be yourself and just play it by ear for the time being. Can you see him or yourself going out with someone else? This might just be a good time for the two of you to get your feelings straight between each other.
Remember! Honesty is always the best policy, but some things are better left unsaid. And never assume anything. Know what you want to talk about and what you don’t, but do make things clear!
(Being just friends with the opposite sex is SO difficult!!!)

@kritiper It’s not clear that this is an opposite sex friendship.

I’m pretty sure they’re both boys, from the wording “being boyfriends”.

First, I would not worry about thinking maybe you did wrong, since you did it, and such a judgement would be subjective anyway.

Assuming he’s not gay and/or not interested in that kind of relationship with you, I think you need to work on accepting that and being ok with it.

@janbb Be that as it may, the same would apply.

Sounds like you two had a miscommunication. Perhaps you are both interested. Talk to him again and be more explicit.
