Is there a really good, moisturizing lip scrub to fix chapped and peeling lips?

Asked by AshlynM (10684points) April 28th, 2018

Just out of the blue, my lips have started chapping. They feel really dry when I rub them together.

Out of the many lip balms I’ve tried, Carmex in a tube provides immediate relief, it does soften and moisten my lips right away, but that’s just a temporary fix. It doesn’t fix the dryness and chapping issue.

I’ve never had this issue before.

I thought about trying a lip scrub. What are some good ones to recommend?

The best and cheapest: tonight put Vaseline on your lips when you go to sleep. Do it two days in a row, and I’m betting your lips feel significantly better.

During the day always wear lipstick or chapstick. The lipstick should be regular lipstick, not long staying, not lip
plumping.

Also, if you have been in the sun it’s possible your lips are burnt and not just dry. The Vaseline at night will still help. You need to avoid sunburn though by using regular lipstick (high pigment that covers the lips) or lip balms and sticks with spf while out in the sun. Most lip glosses are not protective, especially if they are a sheer color.

Once your lips feel better you can use your toothbrush to help get the peeling skin off. Soft toothbrush.

Chanel used to make a great lip scrub and moisturizer, I have no idea if they still make it. It was expensive, and honestly, the Vaseline is just as good for super cheap.
