Did Trump or Roger Ailes say to Gretchen Carlson, "No more beauty pageants, period, to make America great again"?

Asked by flo (13313points) June 5th, 2018

Right after she announced no more swimsuit edition on Miss America, did Trump, or Roger Ailes, debating with Gretchen Carlson, say “No more beauty pageants, period, to make America great again”? on some TV show? If so when and where was it? Is there a video of it?

It probably wasn’t Ailes. He died thirteen months ago.

Any time the name Trump and the topic of Beauty Pagent(s) are in the same line, the story ain’t true.

But to answer this question specifically, no, Trump has not said “No more beauty pageants, period, to make America great again”

@Yellowdog Is it not possible you haven’t seen it or heard of it?

What would Trump have to do with whether or not we have beauty pageants?

I know it is being said it was going to be more of a competition, i.e. no swimsuits—due to the ‘me too’ movement. In other words, its becoming more than just women being judged for their bodies,

Why would Trump say no more beauty pageants even if he had such authority? I hear he is quite a sex fiend.

(P.S. it is possible there are mermaids, too—just because I haven’t seen them doesn’t mean they don’t exist).

@Yellowdog the president can say anything (esp. if he has changed his mind about pageants) about whatever topic doesn’t he like any citizen?

Watch bet you he’s pissed he can’t walk into the dressing room unannounced.

If you want to know what Trump’s actual opinions are, about such things, listen to his Howard Stern interviews. Of all Trump’s public speaking, he really shows his true colors there. These are from before he ever ran for office….

His motivation for most of his ridiculous declarations, are a misplaced self confidence, lack of moral compass, and lack of understanding what he’s even talking about.

But isn’t it possible that he has changed his mind about it just like his position about abortion?

By the way the Activity For You is working on and off. Sometimes I get one sometimes I don’t.

I suppose it’s possible that Trump is a different man, than he was when he did those interviews. They were in some cases from back in the 90’s. Does his current rhetoric suggest that he is different? No.

Do you mean that Trump suggested that it is demeaning to have women judged by how they look in a swimsuit? That really is pretty funny. Thanks for starting my day off with a good laugh!

Point taken.
