Since cockroaches are attracted to almost everything including the glue in book bindings, I’d assume that suet would be a delicacy for them.

I’ve only had suet hanging in trees, and in the fridge sealed in plastic. Two places cockroaches do not go in my experience.

@Call_Me_Jay It depends on where you live. In the South and many parts of the Midwest USA, cockroaches live outside! When I first moved to Southern Indiana, I quickly decided that screens weren’t to keep out flies, they kept cockroaches from flying in my open windows!

Hmm. I’ve only seen cockroaches in the North in one Chicago apartment (and I have lived in many).

In New Orleans they were universal. Everybody had them, rich and poor. The only defense was limiting available food so they stayed out of sight.

Living in Los Angeles, there were no bugs. None. Zero. Not spiders in the corners, no mosquitoes, no flies. It was weird.

When I lived in DC everybody had them & they didn’t discriminate between rich & poor. I bought a 20 pound bag of dog food at the grocery store one day & when I got home, opened the bag to feed my dog, 3 roaches came scurrying out of a sealed bag!!! I had a roach squisher to kill them with & one day I missed the body & just squished the head. It ran off with it’s head bent straight up toward the ceiling. I thought it would go off & die…NOPE…a month later I had a roach with its head bent straight up toward the ceiling climbing up my wall.It died that day!!! After we have our nuclear holocaust, the ONLY living critter will be a roach or two!!!

@Call_Me_Jay is right about one thing, they do shy away from being inside a refrigerator & they don’t work hard enough to get in a zip lock bag. I kept most of my food inside a Tupperware bowl so they couldn’t smell ir nor eat it. That did seem to help!!!

Cockroaches are attracted to EVERYthing. Just keep your house clean and take immediate action if you see one.

IF you see one….there’s a million that you haven’t seen yet!!!
