I had an one dollar idiot tax when I was in charge of the night shift during drunk rush. Plus extra for damage in lieu of calling the cops. Only took in average $2 per shift. Mostly for people jumping the cashier and pouring their own nacho cheese on spuds and forgetting to turn the spigot off and spilling the whole bag on the counter. I don’t drink coffee, but It would get it for free. Or $1.50.

I make better coffee at home and it costs pennies per cup. I carry a half liter Thermos to work.

Yeah, I’m being smug.

I don’t drink coffee, but if I did, I guess among your choices I would be paying $3. Unless, I knew the secret, then I would change my ways to pay the $1.50.

I don’t drink coffee

Do you like the smell? I think coffee and pipe tobacco are two aromas everybody likes.

I don’t drink coffee & I don’t care for the smell. When I smell the aroma of coffee, I have the same reaction as I did when pregnant & having morning sickness…not a very pleasant reaction!!!

I do love the aroma of a good pipe tobacco!!!

@Call_Me_Jay I like the smell. My favorite ice cream flavor is coffee, jamoca almond fudge to be exact. I also love the flavor of coffee in cakes and candies.

As for pipe tobacco, my grandfather smoked a pipe, and the smell of pipe tobacco reminds me of him. There is a smoking and wine type place near me, and when I walk in the tabacco room it’s a very familiar smell. I can do without being near lit tobacco though

This concept was brought to life by the owner of another coffee shop who grew tired of watching people being rude to his employees. He insisted that his employees be polite no matter how rude the customer insisted on being. So he came up with this idea to give customers incentives to be nice. The nicer you treat his employees, the cheaper your order. It has worked so well that it’s beginning to spread throughout the country!!! Some restaurants are beginning to use the same concept.

@Call_Me_Jay I hate pipe smoke and coffee smell. I also hate hot chocolate. I hate chocolate milkshakes and chocolate replacement drinks. I do however like chocolate bars. Just not dark chocolate.

^^I so identify with all of that. Not that I have the same likes and dislikes, but the whole rant sounds like something I would say.

I don’t like coffee, but it’s my favorite flavor of ice cream.

I like fresh strawberries, but hate strawberry jam and ice cream.

I hate fresh tomatoes, but love sauces made with tomato.

I hate cheese on my salad, but will order a grilled cheese sandwich with my salad.

The list goes on.
