Can the television trigger a digital assistant?

Like Alexa, Echo, and Cortana or others? Can the host of a television show accidentally control your digital assistant?

I forgot to turn the TV down when I called a number I have to call often. It is a fully automated system I call routinely.

Lesson learned. A commercial announcer’s voice sent my call off in the wrong direction. I had to start over, TV muted.
