Since Trump uses Mafia terminology and seems to be familiar with how they operate, do you think he knows people who could 'off' his political enemies?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33154points) August 24th, 2018

Several articles in the last couple of days have noted that Trump called Cohen a ‘rat’ and that Trump himself was familiar with ‘flipping’ as a plea bargain. And of course, Trump knows NYC Mafia from his construction days.

Do you think Trump knows people who would, under contract, do hired killing of his political enemies?

Not that he would, of course.

You don’t have to know a Mafia rat to take a contract out on someone.

Of course.
Right now, some CIA black ops types.

Like, wow, man, that’s a crazy, far out notion, man. Can you dig it man? I may sound like a hippie or a beatnik, but that’s just how I roll sometimes, ya dig?

I think that Trump himself needs to worry about a Mafia Hit. They don’t like their business in the spotlight and remember, the Mafia was instrumental in taking out JFK. (‘Course that was the Italian Mafia and I think the Russians have taken over from them.

I saw a good article discussing the role of the Russian Mafia in NYC. I will have to try to find it again.

I don’t know if y’all recall but the Russian Mafia had an office in Trump Tower for years: ABC report

You might be reaching. Calling someone a rat has been around for decades. Remember James Cagney from the 1932 film, TAXI? “Come out and take it you dirty yellow-bellied rat or I’ll give it to you through the door!” Trying to say that Trump picked that up from the mafia is really a stretch. As for flipping, the media has been using that term for the past year, since Andrew Weissman joined Mueller’s team. AND, if you dig a little, you will find it used in that context in the dictionary. Again…the media has been using it for a while and the dictionary uses it, and now that Trump uses it, he suddenly has ties to the mafia?

And I know…you will all scream for proof the media and the dictionary has used that term:

Trump is the personification of mob boss as President. In fact it would be more accurate to forget about the Trump “administration” and adopt the Trump “organization” for future reference.

Dutchess_III's avatar

He’s not smart enough to be a mob boss.

He could be Vivaldi, from “Last Action Hero.”
And Cohen is his Benedict.
