They will not trust him. Hence the meeting with Congress stating that Trump was not dealing in good faith in the beginning,
It was a desperate move of a Bully to force a meeting by Friday etc

More and more things are piling up for ammunition against trump in the future.( from his statements that are unfounded and just to garner constant publicity for Trump.
He has a very bad reputation around the World as a bully and untrustworthy president.
Also in Dec 2018 Mexico may very well have a new President who may scrap this deal.

Trump should be sent home from the nursery until he can learn to play nicely with the other children. He must stop his persistent lying. He has to understand that he will never get anywhere in life if he constantly lies as no one will respect him. He must also learn boundaries and refrain from inappropriate touching of the other children.He should also understand that the nursery toys are not there for his sole benefit and he must learn to share with others.

He is bullshitting. This is all noise. Some 36 US states do a lot of importing and exporting to Canada. Lots of voters live in those 36 states.
