What are some good introductory books to Psychology?

Asked by Treadly (8points) August 21st, 2008

I never got to study it at university but I’m interested in that field now. Where should I start if I want to learn more?

Anything by Steven Pinker, Antonio Damasio, ‘Psychology for Dummies’ by Adam Cash

The textbook they made us buy for Psychology 101 was a book called Psychology by Gleitman, Fridlund and Reisburg.

It was so great that I actually lugged home to Hong Kong from the US after I graduated. (I sold off most of my others) Very readable, has tons of illustrations and just a really great reference book.

See if you can get it cheap second-hand.
