Have you ever freaked people out?

When I was about 14 Mom signed me up to model clothing for Montgomery Ward. What we did was pose as mannequins in the store. They’d move the real mannequins out, and we took their place. We had to hold a pose, standing stock still, unmoving, for 15 minutes at a time. We fooled a lot of people. It was fun messing with their heads some times. For example this one lady was seriously examining whatever clothes I had on, feeling the material and stuff, and I’d whispered “Don’t touch me!” so softly that no one but that person could hear! Talk about screams!

Another time a teen was arguing with her mother, trying to convince her Mom that we were humans. Mom insisted that we eyes so that when she looked back up at me we locked eyes. Talk about screams!

As an adult, I question whether we really fooled any one, but the way a lot of people reacted suggested that we did. It was fun.

haha, good story! I only freak people out with my extreme happiness at times, and I can be a little loud when I’m excited.

Whenever I go to outdoor music festivals, I always sketch random people to study my figure drawing, but my drawings usually turn out crude and unfinished. One afternoon I decided to do an exceptional job, so I drew a portrait of a mother and daughter and it took about 8 hours. Looking back now, yes it was probably creepy.

I ended up giving them the portrait and at first they were horrified that I had been staring at them for that long, but they were also really appreciative of getting a free portrait.

@rockfan I was at Cowtown in Wichita when my kids were little. It was just me and them. I was sitting down, watching them play a little ways away, when, out of the corner of my eye I realized some guy was video taping me! I just kind of froze, then slowly turned to face him full on and gave him a smile. He grinned back and then it was over.
