What are some things you didn't fear as a kid but do now?

Hoardes of disgruntled, recently fired house staff attacking me with a big knife & a sharpened dessert spoon.

A long, slow, painful death and/or dementia.

My patents’ demise.

Other people’s driving.

Especially my Mom’s driving! But even as a kid I knew there was something wrong, the way she’d slam the accelerator then slam on the brakes the way she did. (Insert squeeky rubber sounds, “Ert ert, ert ert, ert ert.”) She just got really flustered really easy. She’d also accuse people of passing her, then slowing down. She got mad when I pointed out that, actually, she sped up!
One time she had a new car. I was driving it. She was in the passenger seat. With NO warning she reached over and flipped the lever that dropped the seat back! I almost wrecked!
But she loved me and I miss her.
