How to edit iPod Touch Summerboard?

Asked by Montray2008 (2points) August 23rd, 2008

Hey, uhm, I am somewhat used to iPod touch hacking, but, this has been a problem for me since day 1 of hacking my Touch.

I am having troubles editing the Summerboard Background image, is there a way to do this…or. How does that work?

Just in case, so I am clear about summerboard, I mean where all of the Applications Icon’s are, I hate watching the boring old Black bacground that really annoys me, I want to bring some life to my Touch =]

Thanks in advance.

That’s the springboard you’re referring to.
There are two ways that I’m aware of. One is installing Kate. You will find on the new(ish) beta version of Installer. If you feel a bit more adventurous, download Winterboard off Cydia.

Actually before I go into a lecture on how to create your own basic themes with Winterboard, I do need to ask, is your iPod Touch Jailbroken or not?

Yes, my iPod is jailbroken.

Thanks, I guess I will need to wait until I get to a place with wifi =/

When you do get access to a wifi connection let me know and I’ll walk you through it if you need.
