Going to this marvelous restaurant on the Alexandria waterfront: https://www.hummingbirdva.net/ The place is perfect, right down to the vegan offerings. Paul’s taking me there for a Valentine’s Day weekend brunch, and I’m already getting excited!

An omelet made from whole eggs. I don’t think I’ve had one in over 20 years.

Chocolate covered cherries. I did have some recently. Yum! I was born on chocolate covered cherry day.

Cordials. I like milk chocolate and a liquid center. Regular old Cella’s cherries bought in the drug store do just fine for me, I don’t know if they sell that brand in Canada? When I lived in Memphis they had a local confectioner that made them amazingly delicious also. It was a better quality chocolate than the Cella’s. The Cella’s are much more reasonably priced though.

Interesting how everyone bar one chose food when a whole host of things can qualify as a “treat”.
Ah well, a special treat for me would be to give the house staff the day…no screw that, the week off & be self sufficient once more, long for those childhood memories.

A treat for me is a whole day alone.
