Is there one particular flutherite with whom you would love to have a lengthy face to face conversation? No names please (unless you’re hopelessly foolish)

Asked by stanleybmanly (24153points) February 15th, 2019 from iPhone

There’s one individual here whom I would actually pay to talk to me.

I have been lucky enough to meet a handful of jellies face-to-face. It was wonderful.

There are a few dead ones that I dearly miss and would love to talk to again.

There are a handful that I would really like to meet.

I, too, have been fortunate enough to meet a few lovely Jellies, and there are a few I would love love love to meet in person. Some of them live far enough away that it is unlikely that I ever will.

Yes several Jellies !

chyna's avatar

No need to pay me to talk to me @stanleybmanly, I’ll chat with you for free. :-)
I have met a few but there are a lot of others I’d like to meet. I would love to have met Gailcalled and Whatthefluther.

After I win the big lottery, we’ll have a tasteless convention the likes of which will put even Trump to shame. Meanwhile I propose a contest for the naming of the event. How about the FLUTHER spit on the poor debauchery marathon?

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

I think we should call it the Fluther Platonic Orgy.

janbb's avatar

I have met with many and they have been wonderful.

stanleybmanly's avatar

Great Work HJ! We can probably get Mexico to finance our study on how long our intellectual orgy can remain platonic.

So far I have met two people face-to-face. Not really the “physical” face-to-face but I treasure every moment of it.

I do wish there would be more people here doing that with me…

ARE_you_kidding_me's avatar

Sure, there are a few

ucme's avatar

Maybe one or two, don’t know about “lengthy” though, that would depend on how soon they bored me rigid.

YARNLADY's avatar

Yes, several of them.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

I have never met any jellies face to face but there is a few I would really like to.

One jelly came to my house with his wife. They met my husband and youngest son. It was such a pleasure to spend the afternoon with them. We are still good friends.

I also had a chance to meet another jelly who didn’t live far from us. He was passing through. I had to pass on the meeting at the time. He committed suicide two months later. I’m full of regrets because of this.

There are many I’d love to meet and eat cheese with and drink a few beers.

jca2's avatar

I’m friends with a bunch on Facebook, and there are a few that I consider lifelong friends that I’d love to meet and probably will, one day.

KNOWITALL's avatar

Maybe. Grabbing a beer as a group sounds fun.

Patty_Melt's avatar

There are two or three I would like to see. I have met one.

I’m not a drinker, so maybe a BBQ?

I missed the boat with one (pun intentional). He promised to visit, but kept putting it off. I sure wish he had.

elbanditoroso's avatar

Yes, a couple of the women here seem feisty and smart, and I would love to meet them. One or two of them are active daily, and one seems to have faded away temporarily.

JLeslie's avatar

I’ve met a couple in real life. I’m Facebook, email, or text friends with a few. I’d love to meet more in real life.

LuckyGuy's avatar

Absolutely! I just met someone in LA. :-)

LuckyGuy's avatar

And I would love to meet up with certain people in San Francisco, Oregon, Hawaii, Vietnam, Scotland…
One of these days.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

HEY!!?? What about B.C Canada??^^^^^^^^

chyna's avatar

^Yeah he left out WV, too.

Brian1946's avatar

I usually try not to be geographically pedantic, but @LuckyGuy actually met with that fellow jelly in Pasadena. ;-)

cookieman's avatar

”Is there one particular flutherite…” (Yes) ”with whom you would love” (Go on) ”to have a lengthy” (Oh my) ”face to face” (Absolutely!) ”conversation?” (Oh. That’s it? I mean…sure.) ::sigh::

janbb's avatar

@cookieman Anytime you want a lengthy…...

stanleybmanly's avatar

@cookieman Life is just one lingering disappointment.

SQUEEKY2's avatar

NO KIDDING!!!!!^^^^^^
At time I sure wish my parents had practiced safe sex.

Mimishu1995's avatar

If only Cookieman, Brian and Luckyguy were in one room with me… :D

Brian1946's avatar

@Mimishu1995

I’d love to have that happen, on some black-&-white only night. ;)

LuckyGuy's avatar

That was not meant to be a complete list. I forgot so many… West Virginia, Australia, NJ, NY, Kansas….and others.

janbb's avatar

@Brian1946 Someone mention a black and white only night? I’m all set!!

Brian1946's avatar

@janbb

Being born in a tuxedo surely gives you a flipper up on the rest of us!

janbb's avatar

@Brian1946 So true! (shakes tailfeathers)

stanleybmanly's avatar

Ah, yes. Once again, the issues of “color” take precedence. Even with penguins waddling at the top of the social order, there’s still the interminable debate over the pecking order when it comes to black & white birds vs. white & black.

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

Are penguins black and white or white and black?

Dutchess_III's avatar

Oh my gosh yes! Better yet, I’d like to have a Jelly reunion at @LuckyGuy‘s place!

stanleybmanly's avatar

He lives in a very pretty part of the world. But I was just wondering what it is about penguins that has deterred human beings from converting their pelts to warm clothing.

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

We could pluck a penguin and stuff pillows with the feathers.

canidmajor's avatar

This is taking a pretty dark turn… @janbb, you might wanna lock your doors!!!

Dutchess_III's avatar

That is a very interesting question Stanly…I never thought of that! They would make really groovy clothes.

janbb's avatar

Aaaccckkk!!!

stanleybmanly's avatar

Thinking it over, I at first thought that it must be because they live in such formidable places that they’re hard to get at. But that can’t be it.

janbb's avatar

FWIW, Shackleton’s crew ate penguins when they were stranded but apparently it was oily and not tasty.

stanleybmanly's avatar

Leopard seals find you delicious, and certain killer whales. Most killer whales stick to fish and confuse you for toys.

canidmajor's avatar

I also have confused @janbb for toys.

janbb's avatar

@canidmajor I’m not sure you’re helping me!
