What possible political benefit was to be gained through Trump’s elimination of Federal funding for the Special Olympics?

Well apparently the pussy is scrambling, back tracking, and hiding behind DeVos apron strings and condemning the whole idea, although I have no doubt he mindlessly supported it until he realized everyone hated the idea / him.

@Zaku I see it that way as well, a diversion to get the media onto something else to offset whats coming soon.
They WILL make the 300+ page Mueller report available to the public and then watch the backlash from that.

None, that’s why he’s backtracking. Some people may have an issue with illegals, or welfare fraud, or things like that, but some things are not partisan issues, we all want that. Now he knows.

What I don’t get is why he’s backing off on this particular issue and not others, like disabling the EPA?
