@all Thanks keep them coming. I have as much time as I can request to write my grade 12 English essay and multiple choice test any time in the select windows at the end of each semester for $26.75. I can ask for more time but I usually run out in a panic when I get to the one hour minimum. The tests are three hours each in two parts. I don’t know how to prepare seeing it is reading comprehension and essay writing .

Backstory Update: Turns out that cabbage, Brussel spouts and some other greens can’t mix properly with one of my medications. I would normally eat an egg or spring roll for a snack from my Asian restaurant for a treat. Good to know most of my night time anxiety is gone now. I also started a new drug that works wonders. Now I need to test on morning diploma English exams this year.

Do the work assigned during the semester. Take good notes during the semester. Study for a few days prior to the exam. Sleep well the night before, don’t stay up cramming for the exam, don’t change your caffeine or sleep habit.

@JLeslie In Alberta you don’t need to take the course over to write the exam over and higher exam scores are worth 100% or the grade. Saves $500. Can take for $27. I might sign up this year for English 30 (grade 12) . Thanks. I passed with a 65% in 1995. I just need a higher mark for self- esteem and prerequisites in university or trade school.

I’m embarrassed that I can’t raise my marks. I feel like a fool.

I think it’s wonderful you’re going to sit the exams again. I don’t feel good today, so I don’t have anything novel to suggest. I use meditation. I visualize an angel pulling the anxiety out of the top of my head and taking it away to be recycled into something nice. It works for me.

Try studying for the exams. Go through the course material on your own, Without putting any effort into studying for them, why should you expect you will do any better on them? Do you think that life experience will automatically translate into better grades?

What about the math exams? Have you given up on them?

Are there practice tests you can take? That always helps me. Or, a refresher course that helps you take the test? That’s extremely helpful in my experience.

Don’t feel like a fool, it’s hard to take tests as we age, we get out of practice. My MIL took the written portion of the Florida driver’s test three times before she passed. Then, she failed the driving part twice until she passed that. She was a nervous wreck, and felt like an idiot, and to top it off, she was driving the whole time on her Mexican driver’s license.

Every two years I take a test to keep my real estate license, and I think if it wasn’t open book I could easily fail. I have to look up about 70% of the questions.

We jellies know how fabulous you are. Whether you pass or not we think it’s fantastic you’ve decided to do it, to go try. If you don’t pass can you take it again? If so, then take the pressure off yourself, and just do everything to do your best.

Think about it like this, if another jelly was going to take the test, how would you feel about it for them? What would you advise them? I think you would be proud of them for trying, so be proud of yourself.

@LostInParadise I’m hoping that the new anti-anxeity drug I am on would work. Also I’m eating better. I have given up math for now. However I still watch math on YouTube for fun.

I hope the change in medicine helps, but it would not hurt to read books for preparing for the tests and to take some of the practice tests included in the books.
