Social Question

What kind of person is most likely to butt into other people's business, and give unwanted opinions and advice?

Asked by Dutchess_III (46811points) April 3rd, 2019

Is it just older people? Or is there a personality type? Was there a time when it was more socially acceptable to just blurt out whatever opinion you have on a topic?

I wonder this because a couple of our jellies have chosen not to have kids, and apparently they’ve been given some grief about that decision by some people in society.

What kind of person would even consider insulting someone, or quizzing them down, over something like that?

I’m one of those jellies. GQ by the way.

For my husband and I, it seems to be people from all ages of society, not just the older folks but friends who simply can’t believe we made a decision that was best for us, and stuck to it.

I’ve heard:
“What’s wrong with you, you barren or his fishes not swimming?’
“You’ll regret that someday when you’re old.”
“Don’t you want a mini me?”
“You’d make beautiful babies”
“It’ll happen eventually”——————-No, not with super responsible me it won’t.
“Don’t you like kids?”

What’s even worse is when it’s complete strangers. So if I had cancer or other personal issues like multiple miscarriages, I guess they’d expect me to tell them? So rude.

“Oh, you don’t have kids, well why on earth not?” (while making a face as if you have three heads)

I agree @elbanditoroso. Except when it comes to gay men. Then the men are much more vocal.

The type that frequents forums. It’s a symbiosis with the type who are forever asking questions of the kind that invite an exchange of pleasantries.

A confrontational know-it-all.
