(NSFW) Does the size of a man's penis have anything to do with his heredity?

Asked by Harper1234 (857points) June 9th, 2019

Was wondering if your father had an unusually large penis would you have one too?

Of course it does! Every little single thing about a person is due to heredity. But just because your father has a big dick you can not assume that, as a guy, you will have one too. That’s not how genes work. Your penis size could come from your mom’s side of the family.

Given the ferocity of the anxiety attack I’m having at the moment, I deduce that either my mother or my father carried a gene for avoiding any thought about their parents’ genitals.

Size does NOT matter; so, it doesn’t matter where your size came from!!!

She didn’t ask if size matters @LadyMarissa.

I think she’s struggling with the science of genetics a bit.

Not necessarily. There are certain prenatal exposures, such as high concentrations of phthalates, that can interfere with fetal penile development.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I didn’t know that @Cupcake.

I don’t think we know yet how this impacts adult penile length or sexual function. The studies are relatively recent and performed in utero or shortly after birth while measuring maternal blood phthalate concentration during pregnancy.

I read about the urinary opening being in atypical locations along the penile shaft due to phthalate exposure some years ago, but a quick google search didn’t find it. Can you imagine urinating or ejaculating through a hole part-way down your penis? That’s a pretty serious quality-of-life issue (I would say up there with perceived penis length).

By the way… a majority of men are concerned with the length of their penis while only a minority of women are.

Thanks @Cupcake.

By the way… a majority of men are concerned with the length of their penis while only a minority of women are.” Also, men seem to psychologically equate penis size with masculinity (and agression.) However, in my limited experience “masculinity” seems more tied in with testicle size, which makes a whole lot more sense.

@Dutchess_III Testicle size keeps growing over time, so “masculinity” would also be associated with age.

Dutchess_III's avatar

This link says adult testicle size is reached during puberty. Where did you hear they continue growing over time?

It’s an optical illusion…as a man ages, they just hang lower creating the illusion of being larger!!! LoL

While everyone’s bodies are different and unique in their own way, it can definitely play a factor yes. Genes rule. My dad is very hair all over his body, and that’s the way I grew up to be too, however our penis sizes are a tad different.

Dutchess_III's avatar

How on earth would you know the size of your father’s penis so intimately that you know of a “tad” of difference??

nightwolf5's avatar

Okay, tad was I guess the wrong wording, but the pool locker room and such.

Just kind of blows my mind. But my dad only had daughters so I don’t really know the dynamics of sons and fathers.
