UK Citizens: How do you feel about taxpayer dollars going to the royal family?

I know I wouldn’t be thrilled, but then again I’m not from the UK and so I have a very different perspective. I’m curious to hear how you feel about it if you grew up there.

I mean, it’s pounds not dollars, but hey.
I see positives & negatives.
On the one hand, it’s a bloody disgrace, while on the other, the cash I pay entitles me to assasinate any one of them.
