Asked by MrBlogger (382points) August 26th, 2008

Ok so I found this theme that seems pretty easy to tweek. I pretty much know were I can fit my graphics in this theme to make my own layout. Its just I cant find were the background is. If someone can tell me how to change the background to this theme it would be great. Here it is. http://customthemes.tumblr.com/post/42985574/perfs-by-jacob-bijani

Were did you find that? I did a ctrl + f and couldn’t find it in the source code. Thanks for your help.

I’d replace the pic “perfs.jpg” with the background image that you want. That would be the fastest way (just rename your image “perfs.jpg”) I wouldn’t mess with the code. If it’s a template site that you would get from “monster templates” or something, I doubt they’d make everything pretty and easy to find. Hope that was what you wanted.

Oh poo. It wouldn’t let me edit it since “perfs.jpg” is on another site and not in the code. Anyways were did you find the link earlier? Thanks for your help.

Is there like a code I can add into it to change the background or put one ontop of the existing one?

In Firefox 3.0 (assuming you are using Firefox, if not you should) click on the favicon. then click on “more information” then click on “media” you will see it.

Oh i see it. But how do I change it though?
Is there like a code I can add into it to change the background or put one ontop of the existing one? Its not in the code so I cant replace the URL and I it wont let me replace perfs.jpg because its on another site. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Oh I see, to be honest with you bra, I’ve never used Tumblr so I don’t know how it works. But since you don’t have access to the directory (I thought it was your site) then I’d shoot them an email. If it is just a default template I doubt they’d change it for every cust. but wouldn’t hurt to try.

let me look at Tumblr and see if I can find something, YAY MY FIRST WHISPER

Ok… Here’s the issue. The CSS file is linked to from his site…. It looks like this: http://www.jacobbijani.com/clients/me/perf/perfs.css The reason that’s a problem is because then he controls every aspect of it. What you can do is this. Go get a flickr account and upload the image you want for your background there. Get the link of the image and put this into the custom css box (right click it and select properties(ie) or copy image location(ff). (under customize->advanced) now type in there:
body{
background: url(/url/that/you/copied.jpg);
}

That should do it for you.
