What did Wilford Brimley mean in his commercial for oatmeal?

@chyna Is that related to a high or low glycemic index food?

@RedDeerGuy1 it has nothing to do with glycemic index. He was referring to satiety. Because oatmeal is bulky with a lot of slow digestion fiber, one feels full for a longer period of time.

That’s an old southern saying that means that once you eat it, you won’t become hungry for a good portion of the day. Oatmeal is one of those foods that stays with you. . Grits is another I find that eggs help to get me through my day without the need for a 2nd meal.If you going on a diet, eat oatmeal, grits, or eggs for breakfast and you’ll eat less or nothing for lunch and then eat a small dinner.
