Do you know that your TV could be watching you back?

If the link doesn’t work please google “Geoffrey Fowler Washington Post Your TV watches back.”

Do you mind that your TV is collecting data on which shows you watch?

Of which my TV is likely thinking, “WTF! Food Network again?! And enough with the SVU marathons.” I’m sure the corporate/advertising/big brother types on the other side are thoroughly bored.

They stopped doing that to me, after my last 4 handlers killed themselves.

I think that cable companies are aware of what shows are currently been watched and that is how they get there ratings.
I never hooked up my TV for internet or remote assistance for that very reason. Also I turn my WebCam off or just upside down on the desk when not in use.
Saw Catfish show where they caught people on there own webcams and that was not the person that they said that they were..( used an others photo and fake life).
If that TV show can hack that easily into anyone’s webcam , not a good idea having one.

I have a sticky note over the lens. It gets more complicated with a mobile device because there’s a lens on each side, but it still can be done.
