What is on a packaged product, other than the brand name, and ingredient list? See detail.

Edited:
I’m looking for the word/words on a product, something major, other than phone number, cautionary information, best before date?

Food requires nutritional info: like Sodium, Carbohydrates, Calories . . . .

flo's avatar

That would be the ingredient list, which I mentioned as other than.

janbb's avatar

@flo No. Calories and nutritional information is different from ingredients.

flo's avatar

I stand corrected.
So, what else is there on the packaging? I mean a major thing.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

A sealed package, lid, cap, tape . . . etc

flo's avatar

Ok, one more major thing.

flo's avatar

…And there is the weight/volume.
So, the one more thing, is identifying feature. It’s not an adjective.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

What’s an adjective?

Tropical_Willie's avatar

@flo You mean “liquid”.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

You mean “Does not contain battery acid,” @Tropical_Willie.
I think ‘liquid’ is a noun also.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

Yah, I know but “liquid contents”, liquid modifies the noun contents .

Dutchess_lll's avatar

“Contents” modifies all the things and I seriously hate and flunked English.

janbb's avatar

Oy! I am so confused!

flo's avatar

You can’t get/ buy any item without having the….of the item. (It’s the minimum you have to know.)
Ideally you want to know everything there is to know about an item. You can buy an item without knowing or caring about the weight/ volume (Added:is it 1 kg or the 1 litre etc.) , the brand name, the expiry date, (and on and on, (all the things listed above). What is it you absolutely need to have (know) though?

Tropical_Willie's avatar

How much it costs, but in most stores I shop in the price is in the cash register system, the UPC code.

flo's avatar

For some people money is no object, and some they’ll buy whatever they need or ’‘need’’ regardless of the price.

flo's avatar

…And unless we’re talking about books and magazines newspapers, (I can’t think of what else) price is not part of the label.

flo's avatar

…(By label I mean it’s not printed on the packaging.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Not any more it’s not.

kritiper's avatar

For topical use only.
Manufacturing plant code.
“Use by” date.
Heating/preparation/suggested serving directions.

kritiper's avatar

Have we got to 20 questions yet??

snowberry's avatar

Not for sale. Sample only.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Msgs and other cancer causing salt.

flo's avatar

Without it, you cannot buy it, (or get it for free) All the things mentioned above, you don’t need to know about. Good to know, but you can buy an item without knowing any of those things.

I didn’t get notification since my last post

Dutchess_lll's avatar

If you aren’t getting notification you have this Q open in another page or tab.”

Proposition 65 warning is a California law that was passed with the intention of helping people to stay healthy. But now to avoid potential lawsuits, just about every California manufacturer puts it on their products whether it contains cancer causing agents or not. It’s become pretty silly, and takes up valuable space on a package.
