Does anyone know of a television show similar to HGTV's "Modern Masters"?

It was a series where they’d visit the studios or workshops of artists and craftsman.

Look up Ovation Network cable, they are very artsy and have shows about actors, painters and other art forms.

Not aware of the show you mention but we have one over here called Watercolour Challenge.
Contestants show up in scenic locations across the country & paint what they see.

Their work is then judged & the winners of each episode eventually meet in the grand final, winning a cash prize, an easel & a bunch of brushes.

I enjoy watching mostly because the look of rage on the faces of the losers makes me laugh.
I tried it once, started painting a swan in a canal but it swam off way before I could finish, I mean, how’s that meant to work.

@ucme-That is precisely why I am not a fan of plein air painting.
I work from my photos and am much happier that way.
The show you’ve mentioned sounds interesting. I have seen those exact expressions when I’ve done art fairs. XD

@lucillelucillelucille I bet you have, they’re a competitive, sensitive lot these painter types :D
The show aired on channel 4 here, been on for years & to be serious for a second, I genuinely enjoyed it, really interesting to see a painting develop.

Don’t know if I ever said, but I drew a lot for my kids when they were little, cartoon characters mostly. Pencil sketches shaded with colour, so long as I had an image to copy from I did a pretty good job.

@ucme I never knew that about you! Do your kids draw?
I have to find a way to watch that show. I have seen some interesting behavior when it comes to those kind of competitions. Sometimes, very funny. :)

@lucillelucillelucille Yeah, I kept that quiet lol
Although they turned out well, my “best friend” was the eraser XD
They never did draw, creative in other ways but neither has an artistic bent. You should see it if you can dig it out from somewhere, fascinating & funny in equal measure.

@ucme I can’t find it on Amazon and don’t have Netflix any longer. My husband said we quit it over a year ago. Lol! I didn’t even know.
Is this it?

@lucillelucillelucille Yep that’s the one!
The woman who presents it used to be an actress back in the day, she speaks in very gentle posh tones but can be quite harsh in her appraisals, comes across like a silent assassin, if she doesn’t like a painting she let’s the artist know XD

@ucme – I will definitely check out some episodes. Thanks :)

@lucillelucillelucille You’re welcome, enjoy & if you don’t actually laugh out loud at least once per episode…i’d be amazed :D
